Beginners Shamanic Journeying with Carrie. Thurs., March 20. These will be held twice a month.
This class is for people who are new to or curious about shamanic journeying! We each have the ability to personally connect with a divine support system which is available to us at all times. The shamanic journey is one of the ways we can access our spiritual guidance through direct revelation and has been an empowering practice relied upon for 40,000 years. During a shamanic journey, drumming is used to help shift youinto a trance state where you can meet your compassionatehelping spirits and ask to receive guidance, wisdom and healing. Together we will begin by learning about different gates of perception, meeting our power animals and exploring a variety of exercises to help discover and strengthen our journeying skills.
Shamanic Dance, Sat., March 22
Within our ancestors’ shamanic cultures, they danced ceremonially with the purpose of connecting with their ancestors, spirit guides, power animals and the Great Spirit. They danced to receive visions, wisdom, healing, strength, and guidance. This connection is still available to us by going within just as our ancestors did. Today’s dance rituals are still an ancient practice but have evolved to support contemporary times. This is a dance of empowerment! Participants dance blindfolded to ensure privacy, freedom, and a full experience. A brief breathing exercise will help to support your shift into a meditative state while the music supports you in your surrender to the experience. Most of all this is a dance within yourself. There is space and safety to let go into the freedom of movement, but physical dancing is NOT a requirement.
Drum/Rattle Journey Circle. Offered monthly.
This Circle is intended to be a positive and supportive gathering in which we will come together with each other and our compassionate helping spirits. We’ll spend our time drumming then taking personal shamanic journeys to explore our inner landscapes where we’ll have the opportunity to receiveteachings and healings from our divine allies. There will also be time to share our experiences with each other if we wish. There will be a few spare drums available and offered for use.
Participants should bring: eye covering or bandana, journal or notebook, pen, drum or rattle
